CHAPTER 01

The company

Bambusa Therapeutics started on March 14, 2024 and is based in Boston. It does not invent its drugs from scratch: it acquired its two lead drugs, BBT001 and BBT002, from BioNTech (Zhuhai) Pharmaceuticals R&D, a BioNTech subsidiary formerly known as Biotheus. Each drug is a bispecific antibody, built to block two disease signals at once and to last longer between doses than today's antibody drugs. It had 30 full-time employees as of September 30, 2026 and has no product sales.
